			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h1><strong>2011 Winners Announced!<a href="http://localsightings.nwfilmforum.org/?page_id=452"></a></strong></h1>
<p>Congratulations to this year&#8217;s Local Sightings Award Winners.</p>
<p>Portland&#8217;s Ted Davee, director of <em>How the Fire Fell</em>, winner of our $1000 feature<br />
film prize. <em>How The Fire Fell</em> will also get a full week’s run at Northwest Film<br />
Forum.</p>
<p>Seattle’s SJ Chiro, director of <em>Howard From Ohio</em>, winner of our $500 short film<br />
prize, and a week long engagement at Northwest Film Forum.</p>
<p>This year our jurors also decided to award Special Jury Mentions to Vernon Lott &amp;<br />
Jennifer Anderson&#8217;s documentary <em>Confluence</em>, and Jade Justad&#8217;s <em>Three Actresses</em><br />
<em>Walk Into a Bathroom.</em></p>
<p>The jury was composed of filmmaker Michael Galinsky, distributor Debbi Berlin,<br />
and Orly Ravid of the Filmmakers Collaborative.</p>
<p>The first annual audience awards, hosted by Naked City Brewery went to Brett<br />
Eichenberger&#8217;s <em>Light of Mine</em> and Jade Justad&#8217;s <em>Three Actresses Walk into a</em><br />
<em>Bathroom.</em> Both will screen at Naked City Brewery in Greenwood on October 19.</p>
<p>The first annual composers awards for best musical score, hosted by the Northwest<br />
Composer&#8217;s Alliance jury of Hummie Mann, Alex Shapiro and Jeff Tolbert, was<br />
awarded to Brett Eichenberger&#8217;s <em>Light Of Mine</em> and Wonder Russell&#8217;s <em>Connect To</em>.</p>
<p>And don&#8217;t miss the reprisal of our hugely popular opening night film, <em>The Oregonian, </em>which will return to the Film Forum for several shows later this month. See www.nwfilmforum.org for details.</p>
