We’re gearing up for Local Sightings 2012, the premier showcase of filmmaking in Northwest, happening this September and October at Northwest Film Forum.

Congratulations to this year’s Local Sightings Award Winners.

Portland’s Ted Davee, director of How the Fire Fell, winner of our $1000 feature
film prize. How The Fire Fell will also get a full week’s run at Northwest Film
Forum.

Seattle’s SJ Chiro, director of Howard From Ohio, winner of our $500 short film
prize, and a week long engagement at Northwest Film Forum.

This year our jurors also decided to award Special Jury Mentions to Vernon Lott &
Jennifer Anderson’s documentary Confluence, and Jade Justad’s Three Actresses
Walk Into a Bathroom.

The jury was composed of filmmaker Michael Galinsky, distributor Debbi Berlin,
and Orly Ravid of the Filmmakers Collaborative.

The first annual audience awards, hosted by Naked City Brewery went to Brett
Eichenberger’s Light of Mine and Jade Justad’s Three Actresses Walk into a
Bathroom. Both will screen at Naked City Brewery in Greenwood on October 19.

The first annual composers awards for best musical score, hosted by the Northwest
Composer’s Alliance jury of Hummie Mann, Alex Shapiro and Jeff Tolbert, was
awarded to Brett Eichenberger’s Light Of Mine and Wonder Russell’s Connect To.
